Mexico is a good place to visit and is famous amount travelers as a vacation paradise.

History

Mexico has a very long and colorful history stretching back to almost 30 millennia to the days of the Aztecs. All in all, the many historical twists and turns have left it a country of many different mixes today that finally ended in 1994 when the economy was stabilized with Mexico joining NAFTA.

Geographical Features

Mexico shares the northern border with the United States. The west and southwest are exposed to the Pacific Ocean while the Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of Mexico cover the east. Southeast regions are against Belize and Guatemala. There are many mountain regions in Mexico. It also has over 150 rivers. Mexico is also one of the most seismologically active places on the planet as it sits on three converging tectonic plates.

Climate

Mexico has rains from June to October. It is driest in February and very wet in July. Mexico also lies within the hurricane belt and both coastal regions are subject to hurricanes.

Places to visit

One of the most famous places for tourists from the world over are the Meso-Ameican ruins. The central and southern parts of Mexico were the home for many prominent civilizations including Aztec, Mayan, and the Olmec. There are many places where these ruins are preserved for visitors.

Mexico City is the capital of the country and is also very popular with tourists. In the city one can find locations such as the Pyramid of the Sun and the Pyramid of the Moon. Artificially constructed tourist zones include La Zone Rosa, El Palenque, and El Zocalo. Visitors also have a chance to see the world's largest bullring - the Plaza de Toros. Then there is the Mexican National Palace and the Metropolitan Cathedral which is the largest cathedral in the western hemisphere. The city also features the National Museum of Anthropology and History which is a unique visit in its own right.

The long coastlines of Mexico consist of many beaches that are famous the world over amongst sun bathers and other visitors.

On the Yucatan peninsula is located the famous resort town of Cancun. This place is particular a favorite of students on spring break. Close by is the beach island of Isla Mujeres and towards the east you can find the Isla Holbox.
