  France

France is supposedly one of the most romantic locations in the world and to this day it maintains its position as one of the most sought after travel destinations on the planet.

There are many places to visit in France, for example, there is the ever-famous Louvre, containing a collection of the most celebrated works of art. Visit the Louvre and see the creations of old masters like Leonardo Da Vinci such as the Mona Lisa, Venus de Milo, and the Winged Victory. The Louvre is the biggest museum in the whole world. Some of the other smaller but equally museums include the Pompidou, the Musee Rodin, and the Musee d'Orsay.

Another great spot that makes for an interesting visit is the Avenue des Champs-Elysees that was built in the 17th century. The Avenue des Champs-Elysees features the Arc de Triomphe at one end and the Place de la Concorde at the other. Along the stretch of this world-famous avenue can be found many restaurants and boutiques.

After having visited two very important places you can then consider moving along to the Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris. This cathedral had almost become a reference model for other French Gothic Cathedrals during the Middle Age. It is still a wonderfully preserved monument that boasts some rather impressive architecture.

If you are traveling with children then it would be well for you to visit Disneyland Paris, lest they find out later that you skipped. In fact, you might wish to visit it even without children to experience the French take on Disneyland. The resort is spread over 5000 acres and is one of the biggest attractions in Europe. Then there is Bois de Boulogne that is inspired by London's Hyde Park and Regent Park. Locals and tourists, everyone enjoys a walk in Bois de Boulogne.

You may also wish to go to the Auteuil and Long champ race courses.

Sports lovers would perhaps like to catch a real glimpse of the tennis courts at Roland Garros, the home of the French Open.

Finally, the emblem and most recognizable symbol associated with France, the Eiffel Tower stands tall and waits for you to come and look up at it. Visitors to France who leave without a picture of this iron giant feel like they had just visited some other country so make sure you do not miss this.

People who like shopping should go to the fashion squares located in the Quartier Latin and St. Germain des Pres. You can find books, antiques, boutiques, and apparel
