Going southwards you can see the temple towns between Luxor and Aswan as well as the Valley of the Kings. You could also visit the world famous tomb of the most popular Egyptian figure, King Tutankhamen. There are other, equally impressive, royal tombs in the same area belonging to the Ramesses Dynasty.

Places to visit

After the Nile River Valley you will wish to wish to travel eastwards where the 500 miles of Egypt lies next to the waters of the Red Sea. Here you can go to the town of Harghada and witness the live mixture of traditional Egyptian life and international tourist resorts. This region is also very famous for the scuba diving and snorkeling activities because of the many shipwrecks, sea caves, and exotic fish. There are plenty of small and scattered islands that you can visit using a ferry or a paddleboat.

After this you may wish to visit the busy Egyptian port of Alexandria that displays a strong Greek and French influence. A simple walk through the city can make you feel that you have experienced enough different cultures for one vacation.

The country of Egypt is an interesting combination of ancient and modern times. Due to its geological and politically history it offers a vacation like none other.
