  USA - California

This summer pack your bags and get ready for some sun, sand and surfing cause we are heading off right to the sparkling golden beaches of California.

So what’s the first thing that comes to your mind when you think of California? Beach babes? Wet t-shirt contests? Surfing? Movie stars? Arnold Swazzenegar? Yeah baby! California is all that and more. Hop on to this extraordinary ride we are going to take through the fabulous state of California to get your first taste of the California buzz!

Location

Located on the Western coast of the United States of America California stretches along the Pacific Ocean for 900 miles, till the Mexican border far down South and the state of Oregon in the North. Breadth wise it stretches for approximately 200 miles from the Western beaches to the state of Nevada and Arizona.

Cities

Not only is California a convenient destination for vacationers (thanks to its easy location and outstanding connectivity to the rest of the country) it is also one of the most ideal ones. California is everything vacationer can possibly ask for and more. Take for instance its two most significant cities, Los Angeles and San Francisco, two of the most spectacular, most razzmatazz cities in the world!

The Multi-ethnic Los Angeles not only houses 4 million (!) people from all over the world, it is also home to the famous California beach bums, surfers, Business Mogulas and of course…how can one forget…the ultra glamorous, super rich, super renowned Hollywood movie stars. L.A (as Los Angels is lovingly nick-named) is the largest city in the west coast of USA and is a tourists delight thanks to its lush beaches and snazzy streets and malls. It is also a stone’s throw away from the world famous Redwood Forests and the awe strikingly breathtaking golf courses on the Palm Spring Desert.

San Francicso which is about 400 miles to the north of L.A lacks the cutting edge personality and quick paced, cosmopolitan air that marks L.A but it makes all that up with sheer, sublime scenic beauty. Clung to the smooth sloping mountains on its coasts this beautiful city is only 4 hours from the Yosemite National Park and 1 hour away from the famous California Wine Country, whose produce have recently been judged as the best in the world.

What to See

When in California get ready to stay right on your toes cause boy do you have a lot to see!! Following are a few (and I mean really few) of the must visits of the state:

The Beach – isn’t it obvious? When in Rome do as the Romans do, when in California head to the Beach! California’s coastline is a rather versatile little piece of wonder and ranges from the lush tropical locales of San Diego near the Mexican Border to the rough northern beaches in Oregon. The water gets warmer as you go down south and is a perfect surfers delight. The northern areas are less surfer friendly but a treat for the eyes. The rocky cliffs up north are also great to go beach hiking on, also look around to find secret secluded beaches for your share of adventure.

The Sierra Nevada Mountain Ranges – Is a 400 mile long snow capped barrier extending from north to south. Although most of the mountain area is shut down for the public you can still catch a sneak peak at certain areas..

The Beautiful Mojave Desert and the stunning Death Valley – a breathtaking wasteland that is simply spellbinding in its nakedness. The scenic beauty has for years made tourists return for more and more.

The Red wood forests – the world famous red wood forests of California consist of the tallest trees in the world. But besides that piece of general knowledge what you must know about the redwood forest is that that they are gorgeous and beautiful. Always a hit with the kids and wonderful to just walk or trek around. It is your ticket to running away from the hustle bustle of civilization and getting submerged in nature, completely.

Of course you will find more places to visit and enjoy depending on the specific area of California you choose to end up in. California literally has something for everyone, from great snazzy shopping malls to movie studios to golf courses to glorious events on the beach to exhibitions and art shows…phew! You really won’t have a minute to waste in California, so buckle up and head on out to the land of golden dreams today!
