| Sayalonga is a picturesque white washed village set in the tranquil surroundings of Andalucia, but yet only short a drive to beautiful beaches such as Nerja and Torrox. The village offers everything from restaurants, bars, supermarkets and even a museum.
There are many festivals here which include a 3 day feria in July, Nispero day in May, Semana Santa at Easter and many more. For more information on Sayalonga check out the web site @ www.sayalonga.es and click on the union jack for english.
There are many delightful places to visit in the area including:
The city of Granada in the Sierra Nevada Mountain range, is the home of “The Alhambra palace” a massive palace, constructed over many centuries and is considered one of the most fabulous medieval palaces ever built.
At Nerja costa you will find
Lovely beaches shops and restaurants. Nerja caves, which where only discovered in the 1950’s, are the largest in Costa Del Sol.
The Balcon de Europa which is the former site of an old Moorish castle, holds wonderful views of the landscape and dramatic coastline.
Numerous local markets to visit including one in Sayalonga every Friday.
For the more energetic there are water parks at Velez Malaga and Torromolinos.
The Costa del Sol means the coast of sun, with 330 days of sunshine a year and temperatures of 30c in July and August and 18c in the cooler months of Jan and Feb it is not difficult to see why. |
